This is Jlee Alexs Rust he is a 4 year old appy that does trails and will be starting on barrels soon. He started as a biter, kicker and bucker but he had worked through that and is now perfect, he even does pony rides with the kids!

I have decided to take a break from horse rescue. I have come to this decision mostly because I want to dedicate my time and money to the wonderful mares I have here who love me to death and deserve all my attention. Also due to the economy and not knowing weather I’ll be laid off from one minute to the next. its not fair for me to take on any other horses but my own right now. This does NOT mean that I wont be involved with rescue efforts or wont EVER take a horse in again…this just means that Im being very cautious with our money right now. I’ll still post horses on my website for others who are in need of finding homes for their horses. I will still be available to help in any other way I can, so please don’t hesitate to email or call. My Name is Holly Leonard, I own and run Holiday Acres (with lots of help from my whole family!) what we do here is take in rescue horses as well as assist other rescues in Michigan and Indiana. We rehabilitate, and re home these horses to the proper homes…. We mainly rescue horses, but we will take in any animal we can properly take care of that needs a helping hand. If we cannot take in the animal I can often help by finding the right rescue for that animal.
We are located right out side Sturgis, Michigan a quiet little area we call Sherman Mill. This is a privately owned rescue, we do not get state funding, so all the cost is out of pocket. But believe me when I tell you its money well spent!
**This is my third full year running my own rescue. I have had a lot of help, and have made a lot of friends and great connections through out these two years. I have not been too proud to ask for help when I need ed it. No one knows it all that’s for sure. And with horses you learn something new EVERY day! I know I have a page dedicated to those who have donated and helped the rescue. But I also wanted to thank all the new friends I have made for their support. This is not easy, and most people understand that. Many people have given me encouraging words and for those who haven’t, that’s fine everyone is entitled their opinion. But I do know what I’m doing is a “GOOD” thing and no one will bring me down. Thanks again for all the support from my online friends and from my local community…I appreciate it greatly!**
